Richard Burke was a soldier fighting in Iraq when his mother discovered something strange: $6,000 was missing from his bank account. She contacted police, who discovered that Burke's friend from high school, Richard L. Schrodt, had used Burke's name and personal information to get a driver's license, rent an apartment, and clean out Burke's checking account.
