If anything positive came out of the recession, it was Americans' renewed interest in their credit scores and desire to improve their financial literacy and money management skills. The latest report from Standard and Poor's/Experian reveals loan defaults decreased across all loan sectors during September. Credit card issuers have also steadily reported a decline in consumer delinquency rates. Separate reports show Americans are saving more, spending less and focusing on debt reduction.
