South Camden Theatre Company, a nonprofit professional theatre organization located in Camden, New Jersey concludes its 10th season titled "A Season of Faith" with a three week production of KING HEDLEY II opening April 24, 2015 at 8p.m.
Written by Pulitzer Prize and Tony winner August Wilson and directed by Connie Norwood KING HEDLEY II is the ninth play in his ten-play Pittsburgh cycle chronicling the a decade-by-decade historic depiction of the African-American experience. Set in the poverty-stricken Hill District in the mid 1980's the play is thought of the most tragic of Wilson's cycle as it focuses on the downfall of the prideful ex-con protagonist, King Hedley II.
