Media attention may be on gold, but the white metals have a very positive long-term outlook.
MIAMI, FL - LBMA delegates forecast a platinum price of $2,163 an ounce by their next meeting, in November 2012 and $826 an ounce for palladium, within the same time frame. Platinum is experiencing problems with supply as South Africa sees wage increases and labor shortages. Returns on platinum mining are currently very low, and not reflective of the levels of risk and effort involved in mining the rare metal.
