The carbon footprint of London 2012 Olympic will be 3.4 million tonne of carbon dioxide equivalent (3.4 MtCO2e).
Lloyd Westcord has called upon ArcelorMittal, the world's leading steel and mining company to make London 2012 Olympic Games carbon neutral by cancelling spare carbon allowances it received from EU governments. Lloyd Westcord claims that less than 3% of the excess EU carbon credits that ArcelorMittal received would be enough to make the whole event carbon neutral.
