Francisco Gonzalez reviewed the progress made by Turkey over the past decade, during which it has achieved great economic and institutional stability.
“Turkey is today a great economy with a capacity to attract substantial foreign direct investment and a very attractive market for exports," he said at the event. More than 200 people attended the meeting, including Spanish and Turkish business leaders. Fitch recently raised Turkey's credit rating to investment grade.
With 75 million inhabitants, Turkey has one of the youngest populations in Europe. It also occupies a privileged strategic position in a region with a population of 400 million....
