What is "Ethernet over Coax" and why do people need this technology? The first reason is to make good use of the already existed coax cable and/or because surveillance equipment users today are more familiar with coax cable and are used to using it. The second is simply due to the fact that coax cable has better reliability and lifetime than copper cable.
