The COVID-19 Emergency Response Legislation Amendment Bill 2020 (ACT) has been introduced and passed by the ACT Legislative Assembly to ensure a consistent set of powers across tax types to provide relief for households and businesses through rebates, exemptions and deferrals.
The COVID-19 Emergency Response Legislation Amendment Bill 2020 (ACT) has been introduced and passed by the ACT Legislative Assembly to ensure a consistent set of powers across tax types to provide relief for households and businesses through rebates, exemptions and deferrals.
The Bill includes changes to payroll tax arrangements to exempt wages subsidised by the Commonwealth Government’s Jobkeeper programme and will support local businesses hit by the pandemic.
